A highlight of the 2026 Symposium of the Pedorthic Association of Canada was the President’s Lunch, where PAC President Sean MacMillan C. Ped Tech (C), C. Ped (C), Past-President Jodi Basha C. Ped (C), and PAC CEO Jonathan N. Strauss recognized outstanding Canadian Certified Pedorthists whose leadership, innovation, and commitment continue to strengthen and advance the profession across Canada.
PAC’s annual awards celebrate excellence across the Pedorthic community. They recognize emerging leaders making an early impact, members who embody the spirit and advocacy of the profession, mentors who help shape future practitioners, and individuals whose long-standing contributions have elevated Pedorthics nationally.

Congratulations to the 2026 award recipients:

• Brandon Crossman C. Ped (C), — Emerging Professional Award, recognizing a Certified Pedorthist in the early stages of practice who demonstrates exceptional dedication, leadership, and meaningful impact within the profession.
• Christy Shantz C. Ped (C), — Spirit of Pedorthics Award, honouring a member whose passion, energy, advocacy, and community engagement help strengthen the profession and inspire others.
• Ermin Pagtakhan C. Ped (C), — Mentorship Award, celebrating a professional whose guidance, collaboration, and commitment to developing others continues to build confidence and growth across the industry.
• Kathleen Klement C. Ped (C), — Award of Distinction, recognizing significant and sustained contributions to Pedorthics through leadership, education, and professional advancement.
• Graham Archer C. Ped (C), — Michael Van Vlack Memorial Leadership Award, PAC’s highest honour, recognizing a leader who exemplifies integrity, mentorship, volunteerism, and lasting impact on the profession, while also honouring the legacy of Michael Van Vlack.

Each of this year’s recipients represents the very best of the Canadian Pedorthic community. Their work reflects what it means to lead, give back, and help move the profession forward.
