We regret to inform you that the PAC Symposium scheduled for April 23 – 25, 2020 in Halifax has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled for this year. It is our hope to host the 2023 Symposium in Halifax; work in that regard will take place over the coming weeks.
Our office staff will be in touch with all registered attendees, exhibitors, speakers and sponsors starting this Friday. Please be patient with us as we work through the process of refunding payments. The refund process will take up to 30 days.
The PAC AGM will, however, proceed by teleconference in April. We will start working out details for a teleconference-based meeting later this week. Please mark Friday, April 24 at 12:00 noon Eastern on your calendar for this meeting. Official notice of this meeting will come to you via email next week.
In turn, all committee meetings planned for Halifax are also now cancelled. Later this week, our office team will be in touch with the committees to schedule video conference-based meetings in April. We know it is important to keep the work of the association going during this time.
For now, please mark April 15 – 17, 2021 on your calendar for the next Symposium. This will take place in Niagara Falls, Ontario and we look forward to seeing everyone then, if not before.
Since Professional development opportunities remain important for the profession, we are rolling out Webinar Wednesdays for the next few weeks. The first webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 12:00 noon Eastern. Look for details of this in the next 24-hours. Our board and staff will work with the professional development committee to bring you quality education at an affordable price for the next several weeks.
The professional development committee has also been planning an event for late May in Vancouver. Over the next couple of weeks, we will assess the viability of that event. We plan to offer in-person professional development opportunities this year, as soon as it is safe to do so.
It is important that we support you during the Covid-19 pandemic. With that in mind, we have partnered with DEM Solutions to develop resource materials specific for pedorthists. The board approved a contract with them yesterday and the first resources will be available to members by the end of this week. DEM Solutions will be providing our members with weekly updates for the next few weeks. This information will be sent to members via the PAC office.
